New baby on board!
Did I mention we have a fishtank? Tom rescued this tank from a month of neglect last summer - it was left in an empty house. Yeah- he made me leave the boat to help him haul it home! It was about 1/2 full of water, and so green with algae that you couldn't see anything in the tank. We were certain it was empty, but lo and behold- two fish had actually survived. One is a hulking algae eater we have named Mr. Pink and the other was a silvery something. ( Sorry, I haven't learned fish breeds) Those two stalwarts have survived our trial and error attempts to find them more friends (mall fish are icky). We finally found a pet store that specializes in tropical fish, and we have increased our herd?, pod?, school? to 11. Tonight we thought we were missing one of our smaller ones, and as we were staring at the tank trying to find him, I noticed a tiny movement behind one of the plants. Much to our surprise, it was a baby fish!!! Who knew that such a thing was possible? And why only one? (I'm afraid I know the answer to that!)
Anyway, looks like we're grandparents again, and Owen has some competition. Not hardly. But it is fun to watch the little thing. We hope he survives!
