Countdown to Spring

Less than 100 days until Spring- and only 103 days until April 15th- the official start of our summer tenancy at the marina on Cayuga Lake, one of NewYork State's most beautiful recreation spots.

Here we are on January 2, 2006- checking out the Serendipity. (The picture's a little crooked 'cause we had to use the hood of the car). Our slip is over there across the way- to the left of the channel out to the lake. It looks pretty desolate over there! The lake has kept the bulk of the snow up on the hills, but it's cold today, about 25 and windy, as usual. It's hard to believe that soon this marina will come to life, these boat covers will come off, and over 200 boats will be rocking gently in their slips. But we have evidence that it will be so - see below!

Now back to our winter quarters for some hot chocolate - and a start for Tom's wallpapering adventure!
