Trips to cool little places
OK, so we're nuts about castles!
This one is the Nelahozeves Castle, not far from Prague. They were having a Christmas Market here, and the day was beautiful, so off we went.
This castle is owned by the Lobkowicz family, who brews some pretty good beer.
The folks below are making traditional Czech Trdelnik. Those rounds of dough are cooked slowly over an open fire, then when done, dipped in cinnamon sugar. Yummy!
And the traditional Czech sausages....
(with a traditional Czech young lady on the cell phone)
And these little goodies are called "kolache", although it seems that even the Czechs can't agree on how that should be spelled. The prune ones are great for what ails you....
No trip to a castle would be complete without a visit to the cellars or dungeon area.
So, down the stairs....
More things to buy! A basket maker and other crafters were fortunate to be inside out of the cold.
St. Mikulas
(St. Nicholas - the angel and the devil)
