Trips to cool little places

OK, so we're nuts about castles!
This one is the Nelahozeves Castle, not far from Prague. They were having a Christmas Market here, and the day was beautiful, so off we went.
Lots of merchandise for sale, many handmade items, good food, and of course - beer!
This castle is owned by the Lobkowicz family, who brews some pretty good beer.
The folks below are making traditional Czech Trdelnik. Those rounds of dough are cooked slowly over an open fire, then when done, dipped in cinnamon sugar. Yummy!
And the traditional Czech sausages....
(with a traditional Czech young lady on the cell phone)
And these little goodies are called "kolache", although it seems that even the Czechs can't agree on how that should be spelled. The prune ones are great for what ails you....
No trip to a castle would be complete without a visit to the cellars or dungeon area.
So, down the stairs....
More things to buy! A basket maker and other crafters were fortunate to be inside out of the cold.
The good, the bad, and the beautiful???
St. Mikulas
(St. Nicholas - the angel and the devil)
Always a show-off in the crowd....
After the show, checking out his box of tricks...
Hardy people, the Czechs - enjoying lunch outside!

A glassblower........

And of course, this town is on the river. We found the marina!!

Owen's birthday party

Owen is 7! Hard to believe, but true.

To celebrate, he wanted to have a bowling party with some friends from school. It was hard to catch them still enough for a photo, but we did manage a few.

Clark on left and Owen willing the ball to hit those pins! Looks like a strike!

Good form!

Laura with Clark's Mom Shanna..

Elliot preferred the pool table...showing Piper what happens when you put the ball in the pocket!

Time to toast the birthday boy!

Elliot and Piper had fun!
