Tooth what?

Having just learned to "travel light" with only a backpack, and not liking to check luggage, I was devastated to hear that toothpaste is now on the list of items banned from carryons.

Hairspray, shampoo & makeup I can travel without (hotels always have those nice little bottles of shampoo) but toothpaste is an essential!

Not to worry - I have found a solution. I remembered that my father always preferred to use tooth powder. It came in a metal can, and he would pour some into his hand, mix it wth a little water, and make a paste which he then used to brush his teeth. I wondered if they still made such a product, and sent Tom out to find some, while I packed my backpack for a quick trip to Minnesota. They do still make tooth powder, Arm & Hammer produces it, and I made it through airpor security with no problems.

Ah, sometimes the good old days really were.

Uhhhhh - is the tooth powder white? Like in a "suspicious white powder"?
