Where have all the bloggers gone?

Okay guys - I know its hard to keep up with all the Facebookin', Tweetin', blogging, and living your life too, but ....

There are things I want to know, and pictures I'd like to see!

Susan - did you have a Cinquo de Mayo party? Is Ian home now or working somewhere exciting for the summer? What's Rob up to?

Diane- when does Garret graduate and is Chandler finished for the summer?

Erika- no blog about your trip to Europe? or San Diego? or Suz's wedding?

Geesh guys - let's get with it!

We have been busy traveling back and forth to the hostel. We are having fun with it- not sure if we'll make much money at it, but at least we feel useful!

We have pictures too that should be shared - watch this space!

Erika and Mike's visit

We were so happy to have Erika and Mike come for a visit! We did a little sightseeing in Prague for the first few days.

Here, we are waiting for the ferry boat that provides a scenic view from the river of Vichyrad, one of our favorite spots in Prague.

The sightseeng included a tour of Mosaic House, and the "green" water filtration/heat reclamation system.

The weather cooperated so that a visit to the beer garden in Letna park was on the agenda...

Erika's making up for lost carbs...

And of courser we had a few dinners out, with more carbs....

a tour of the Pilsner Urquell brewery...

Is there really beer in those barrels?

In the tasting cellar...

Local boys on Easter Monday

Easter Monday in the Czech Republic is a holiday, and celebrates the arrival of spring with some interesting local customs.

The boys make whips of braided willow branches, and in the morning they go looking for girls. Once found, they "whip" the girls, who then must give the boys an Easter treat - be it candy, decorated eggs, or a kiss.

Beware the boy who forgets the time however, because if a girl is whipped past noon, the girl can retaliate with pails of water or spritzes of cheap perfume.

They all seem to have a great time- these boys are our neighbors in Loket.
