Finding the geocache

The Seeleys are a family from Oneonta, NY who have been in Prague for the last year. Dad is a professor here on sabattical. Garret is in Owen's class at Riverside, and they all ended up here at Lazy River the same weekend.

Owen and Grandpa went with them to look for a nearby geocache. Found it! Now the boys are choosing their "swag".



Grandpa decided not to climb up on that ledge and stayed below to photograph the event!

A family with two boys (one of whom is in Owen's class) were also staying at Lazy River on Friday.

The boys visit Lazy River Hostel

Chris and the boys came to visit us at Lazy River, giving Laura some much needed "regeneration" time.

Palm Sunday in Loket

We decided to attend Palm Sunday Mass this morning, and so arrived at the church a few minutes prior to the service. The sanctuary was empty, which was a little surprising, considering the day BUT a very nice woman (the organist, I think) explained in Czech that the congregation was gathering in a small chapel on the street below the church before having a procession to the big church. Surprisingly, I understood enough of that to get us to the right place. Rather than palms, they used a lot of forsythia and spring greenery. Many people brought bouquets of their own to carry in the procession. Following the cross...that's the priest with the fancy red cape. Up the stairs...

and into the sanctuary.

No need to worry about air-conditioning for this church, it was still cold enough inside that you could see your breath!!

More guests at Lazy River Hostel

Wow! It's been a long time since we've posted on the blog - sorry about that! Tom has been going out to Loket on Thursdays, staying the weekend and returning on Monday or Tuesday - depending on our bookings. I have been on my own in Prague, just waiting for school to end! I did take the bus out one weekend, and we are both at the hostel now as we are having a two-week break from school. Below are photos of some of our April guests: Eleanor and her fiance......
