We launched today!

There she is- ready to hit the water! We were the third boat in the marina this year- but first on our side!

Now the real work begins before we can stay on her- we need to clean, paint, repair a small water leak, move a few things on board and we're good to go!

Hangin' out in downtown Groton

We have gone from winter to summer overnight- but you won't hear me complain!

We took advantage of the great weather to hang out for a while on the porch of the Groton Hotel.

The bikers were out too - and a bar called Farrells across the street from the hotel has become the bar of choice for the biker crowd. There are now two businesses in Groton that cater to bikers- a detail shop in town and a cycle shop complete with a paved training area for new bikers that is just up the road from our house. We are seeing quite a few beautiful bikes in town, many parked here.

Warming up the Pope's Crowd

Tom has kept in touch with his old high school friend, Joe Lamachia. Joe used to be a radio personality in Cortland, NY when Tom and I first met. We used to visit him occasionally at the studio where he worked.

Joe has moved on to bigger and better things, and he is now a voice actor based in the NYC area, doing voice overs for commercials and other speaking parts.

Joe was so excited to share with his friends the news that he has been chosen to host the
Concert of Hope which will precede Pope Benedict XVI’s Solemn High Mass at Yankee Stadium April 20th.

WCBS Newsradio 880 in NYC interviewed Joe about this once-in-a-lifetime assignment.

The interview may be heard on the WCBS 880 website:

Just click on "Warming Up the Pope".

This a very great honor for someone from the small town of Cortland, NY and we are very excited for him and happy to share this news with all.

Oh crap, watch your step Tom

Fancy foot steps on the dock.

Empty Marina

We were visiting the marina and uncovered the boat.
