Everybody gets dropped on their head once, right?

We "found" more Christmas pictures hidden in the computer.

Here is Grampa "Bear" giving Owen a ride around the apartment. Owen is having a great time, it looks like Grampa is fading!

Woops!

Doors and Strange places

This was from our trip to Kutna Hora. Very cold day, but we had fun walking around all the narrow streets.

This is a famous "bone church". The bones of people who died during the plague years were collected and "artistically" arranged. yes those garlands and the chandlier are all made of bones!

Doing the City walk

We walked and walked through the main tourist attractions in Prague, and the photos that we took do not even begin to capture the beauty of everything that we saw.

This is a great room or main hall in the old Prague Castle. The castle grounds are actually a series of buildings, and we enjoyed going through them on this trip to view the interiors and the exhibits that are on display inside.

The photo below is of the main mosaic above the doors of St. Vitus's Cathedral, which is located in the inner courtyard of the Castle. It is amazing to see how many little tiny tiles were used to create this beautiful mosaic.

After leaving the Castle, we walked across the Vltava River. Just one of the views!

Old Town Square at night is phenomenal- especially during the Christmas season. The buildings that appear to be golden in the photo below were built by the Communists to hide the entrace to the church whose spires are visible behind them. Tom & I finally did find the entrance, and this was one of the most beautiful churches that we saw.

Another view of those same church spires from one of the small streets in Old Town.

The Christmas tree in Old Town Square. The tower in the background is the clock tower.

This is one of the main tourist attractions in Old Town- the Astronomical Clock that has moving figures that appear every hour when the clock strikes. They are hard to see in the video, but you get the idea of why the Square is always packed with tourists waiting for the clock to do its thing!

New Year's Eve From Chris and Laura's roof top

This video shows a 360 degree view of the amateur fireworks all around us. The noise is awesome, but you had to be there to get the true effect. The red and blue lights that are dimly visible in the upper part of this photo (before you start the video) are on the infamous TV tower.

Chris & Laura basically live right next to this tower. Perhaps more about that later!

Owen's School Christmas Party

The first week we were in Prague, Tom & I had the pleasure of being the beaming proud grandparents at Owen's school Christmas party. We met lots of nice people there, big and small!

As you can see in the video below, the kids performed several songs that they had been practicing. Then we all enjoyed cookies & hot chocolate. A great time was had by all!

Home again

Just a quick note to say we arrived home safe and sound Wednesday evening. Many thanks to my sister Judy, who braved the wild roads of NYC to pick us up at JFK airport, and drove us back to her home in Binghamton to retrieve our car.

We walked in our door at 2AM US time, and although I had intended to sleep in Thursday morning, I was at work in Syracuse at my usual time. I made it through the day- but crashed when I got home, going to bed at 7 and not awakening until this morning.

It seems I missed the excitement of a broken water pipe last evening in one of our rental units- Tom was out until 10 PM getting that fixed!

Anway- I hope to recover completely over the weekend, and we will be posting photos and videos soon.
